12th Brave New Works

How to participate: Six Seasons Community Painting Project Join Joe Williams, local Noongar artist and Donny Woolagoodja, Mowanjum artist and others in painting six large canvasses. Learn about the six seasons of our region and the different cultures that Donny and Joe represent. All materials provided. No fees. Denmark Scout Hall every Tues Wed Thurs Fri from 10am to 3.30pm

Seasons Exhibition Artists are invited to submit works for sale at the exhibition. Theme is 'Seasons' in any media. No commission will be charged on sales. Denmark Scout Hall Opens at 7pm Thursday 24 March and is open daily 10am - 4pm to Mon 28 March. Work can be delivered to the Denmark Scout Hall Tuesday to Friday 10am to 3pm until 22 March.

Ceremony Be part of the first Corroboree to be held in Denmark for 100 years. Join the ceremonial walk through the bush to the oval on Easter Saturday leaving from the Denmark Markets at 4.30pm. McLean Footy Oval Saturday 26 March 5.30pm

Fire Sculptures Help Bernie Low make five large fire sculptures to be lit at the end of the Corroboree when all tribes come together. Denmark Scout Hall Tues 15 to Sat 19 March from 10am to 3.30pm

Fri 25 March Comedy Movies ninth Over the Fence Comedy Film Festival at the civic centre Door & Bar opens 7.30pm

Sat 26 March Denmark Markets 110 stalls of handmade craft and art from the region plus free entertainment all day. Performances by the 4 Kens and the Latin Lovers, Cathy & Dave, Sweet Lip, Delta Force, Lucia, Blue Flame, Billy Rufus, Blake Robinson, Mark Kumara, John Corson, Peter Bavin and Capoeira. Berridge Park 10am to 4.30pm

Sat 26 March Corroboree Noongar and Mowanjum ceremony & dancers McLean Oval at 5.30pm

Sun 27 March Finale Night - Short Works at the civic centre Door & Bar opens 7pm Comedy, Dance, Performances plus a short movie

Comedy Cabaret Saturday 8 January 8pm Denmark Civic Centre Stand-up comedy with Don Smith (clown doctor, musician, entertainer), Kia Tier (winner JJJ Raw Comedy Finals), Geoff Stainton (MC, funny man) and Hypertheatre (do it different). Tickets available from the Denmark Visitors Centre at $12 adult or $10 member. There will be a bar and snacks. The 13th Arrow 8pm Sunday 9 January 8pm Denmark Civic Centre World premiere of a locally produced movie. Written by producer Don Eade and directed by Bodhee with local actors and filmed at locations in Denmark and Albany. Tickets available from the Denmark Bulletin at $12 adult Jack McCoy Billabong Surf Film Festival Monday 10 January 4.30pm and 8pm Denmark Civic Centre Only four venues in WA will see this international travelling film festival - a scoop for the surf culture of Denmark - awesome footage and big sound Tickets $15 available from the Big Drop Surf Shop or at the door

Festival of Voice
Festival of Voice logo

Held on June Long Weekend this event features more than 350 performers and 12 concerts. Over the weekend big and small ensembles will perform. As well as vocal there will be storytelling and vocal percussion.
There will also be 17 workshops with a weekend pass available to the whole festival costing $50. A one day pass is also available for $25.

ranging from thimble sized pieces to some as big as grandfather clocks.

Stella a Trois

Café Cabaret Style Opera and musical theatre at its best. A world class performance delivered in a relaxed and humorous way by husband and wife team Matthew and Fiona Lester, joined by Mezzo-Soprano, Jacqueline Auty. They replay some of the greatest dramatic scenes from the world of musical theatre, in the funniest comedy style. This is a performance with a twist, as the Mezzo, Jacqueline tries to steal Fiona's man away from her, as she sings like a bird.

Denmark Summer Festival 2004 (previously Music Festival)

following the last concert with Marianne Faithfull organisers have proceeded with plans for 2004. It has just been announced that on the 14th February 2004 the Denmark Music Festival concert will be relocated. The venue will be a new ampitheatre being constructed at Howard Park Winery, Scotsdale Road, Denmark. This site is close to town and will have a capacity of 4,000.

Leading Australian Country music performers James Blundell and Jimmy Little are the headline acts. Supported by The Sensitive New Age Cowpersons - a four-piece comedy bluegrass band from Perth.

    Denmark Markets
    Over 90 art, craft and produce stalls have been booked for the next
    Denmark Markets to be held at Berridge Park on 14 December 2002.
    First held in 1980 the Denmark Markets has grown into a regional
    event showcasing international, national and state performers
    alongside local talent.
    The program of free live entertainment starts at 10am and continues
    throughout the day until the sunset show at 7.30pm. Bring a drum to
    join in with the finale!
